Catalyst Awards
RSA Catalyst Awards offers social innovation grants and support to RSA Fellows
We award £100,000 annually to support RSA Fellows to test social change innovations and scale up the impact of their projects.
The Catalyst Awards offers £2,000 Seed and £10,000 Scaling grants for RSA Fellows.
Seed Awards
Seed Awards can be used for early-stage projects in need of a financial boost to help them test the real-world potential and feasibility of an idea.
Scaling Awards
Scaling Awards can be used for growing projects that have already made a proven difference. By scale, we mean reaching new beneficiaries, deepening impact with existing beneficiaries, or exploring ways of becoming more financially sustainable.
To be eligible, you must be an RSA Fellow. If you are applying for a Scaling Award, your organisation’s income must be below £250k. Find out more about RSA Fellowship here.
Timeline
- 6 March 2023 – Catalyst Awards open to applications
- 3 April 2023 – Catalyst Awards close to applications at 23:59 pm GMT
- April & May – Reviewing and community panels
- June – Decisions are announced to applicants
If we receive a significant increase in the number of applications, we will notify all applicants by email of any changes to the timeline.

How to apply
Applications are now closed. Our next round will open in autumn 2023.
You can select the grant type you are applying for on the first page of the portal. You will need to enter your last name and Fellowship number (found on the account tab of MyRSA, on correspondence from the RSA or by emailing the Fellowship team or calling +44 207 451 6939).

You can download Word versions of the Seed Award application form and Scaling Award application form but please note, these forms are for reference only and cannot be submitted.
